About RemitFee

RemitFee is an independent calculator that shows the real cost of sending money abroad from an Indian bank. It exists because the published "₹X commission" headline isn't the full picture — Swift fee, GST, and the exchange-rate spread together usually cost more than the commission itself.

Every number on the site comes from a bank's own published PDF. The calculation engine is open source, the data file is open source, and every fee primitive a bank uses is documented. If you spot a number that doesn't match the bank's PDF, please open an issue.

What's covered today

  • HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, SBI, IOB — outward and inward remittance from India
  • 15 of the top destination corridors for Indian outbound remittance
  • Side-by-side comparisons between every pair of banks in the bundle

What's not covered today

Correspondent-bank charges, TCS on LRS, NRI-specific schedules, FCDD issuance, trade/ODI/FDI/ECB transactions. These are documented as caveats on each page where relevant.
